Admission Requirements for Higher Education in Egypt
Higher education institutions in Egypt offer Bachelor's, Master’s and Doctorate degree programmes. The admission requirements for these study programmes vary depending upon the level of education, course of study and institution. Read the post to know about the admission requirements and procedure.
General Admission Requirements
For Bachelor’s Degree
Candidates must possess a General Secondary Education Certificate (GSEC) or the Al-Azhar General Secondary Certificate. Grades may vary depending on the qualification undertaken, but will generally be a score of 70% or better.
For Master’s Degree
The standard requirement is that the candidate must hold a bachelor degree in a related specialization or its equivalent.
For Doctorate Degree
The admission requirement for doctorate studies in Egypt is that the candidate must hold a Master’s degree in a related specialization.
Application Procedure
The application process to Egyptian institutions is centralized. Students must apply on a central office called Coordination office for admission to Egyptian higher education institutions. You must mark your preferences for faculties and programmes on the application form. Fill out the application form completely and submit it along with the required documents.

Documentation
Following attachments are required along with the application form:
Curriculum Vitae: It should contain details about your education, accomplishments, experiences- research and professional, honors and awards, research interest (for doctorate studies), contact information and references.
Three photographs and application fee
Official educational transcripts: An official copy of the secondary school certificate or official secondary school transcripts with diploma
Letter of Reference: At least two letters of reference by the teachers of academic course of study within the past 2 years.
Essay: An essay of 300-500 words. It should explain the benefit from the education at the chosen university.
Photocopy of Birth Certificate
Financial Resources proof: Can be in the form bank statements or any other valid documents
Research Proposal (for doctorate studies): It should have the research topic and its relevance.

Health Report: Proof of health and accident insurance for the period of your stay in Egypt.
